Some of the most talented artisans in the Southeast are coming to the Great Smoky Mountains next month! From July 8-17, the city of Gatlinburg will host the 47th Annual Summer Craftsmen’s Fair. Bringing over 180 accomplished artists to the area, this 10-day festival is one of the most popular events in the Smokies. Here is everything you need to know about the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair!
The 2022 Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair will be held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, located at 234 Historic Nature Trail by traffic light #8. The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily throughout the event. Here are 6 reasons you don’t want to miss this awesome Gatlinburg event:

1. Live art demonstrations
Have you ever wondered how artisans create their work? The Craftsmen’s Fair is your chance to see the artistic process come to life! Participants at the festival will be demonstrating their crafts throughout the week, so guests can get a behind-the-scenes look at how jewelry, pottery, and other works of art are made.
2. It’s the perfect place to pick up handmade gifts
If you’re looking for a vacation souvenir, there’s no better place to be than the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair. At the convention, you’ll find 180 booths filled with totally unique, handcrafted items that you can purchase directly from the artist. All of the participants at the fair are reviewed by a special jury, so you can be sure that the arts and crafts at the festival are of the highest quality. Whether you’re looking for paintings, wood carvings, stained glass, or something else, you’re bound to find them at the Craftsmen’s Fair.
3. Admission is very cheap
Adult admission to the Craftsmen’s Fair is only $10 per person. Kids 17 and under get in for free!
4. Free musical entertainment
There will be live music every day of the festival at noon and 3 p.m. Monroeville, Po’ Ramblin Boys, and The Dennis Lee Band are this year’s featured musical guests.
Dennis Lee blends music and comedy to create a one-of-a-kind show. Lee and his band have opened for Sheryl Crow, Lee Greenwood, and the Beach Boys. The best part of the music acts is that the entertainment is included in the price of your fair ticket!
5. There is a special children’s area
Are your kids aspiring artists? Then they’ll love the newest addition to the Craftsmen’s Fair! Children 2 and older will have the chance to make their own necklaces, paint birdhouses, and participate in a variety of other art projects. All of these activities are completely free for your little ones. The Kids Corner will also feature a fun and interactive sand art exhibit!
