March is an exciting month to be in the Great Smoky Mountains! There are so many festivals and shows going on, it can be hard to keep track of everything. That’s why Hearthside Cabin Rentals has put together this convenient schedule of all of the incredible events in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg going on in March.

Gatlinburg Improv Fest
When: March 6 – 8
Thursday March 6 – Show at 8:00 p.m.
Friday March 7 – Shows at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Saturday March 8 – Shows at 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.
Where: Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. 461 Parkway, Gatlinburg TN 37738, Traffic Light #3.
What to Expect: The Gatlinburg Improv Fest brings local comedy groups together for 6 sidesplitting shows. These talented performers will take suggestions from the audience and make up hilarious characters and stories right before your eyes!

Winter Carnival of Magic
When: March 7 – 8
Friday March 7 – Show at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday March 8 – Show at 8:00 p.m.
Where: Country Tonite Theatre. 129 Showplace Blvd, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.
What to Expect: Some of the most accomplished magicians in the world will perform two awe inspiring shows at the Country Tonite Theatre. You won’t believe your eyes!
Cost: Adult tickets are $20 per show. Children’s tickets (9 years old and younger) are $7. To order tickets call 1-800-792-4309.
Clausfest Parade of Santas
When: March 15 at 4:00 p.m.
Where: The Parkway in Gatlinburg. The parade starts at Traffic Light #10 and ends at Traffic Light #6.
What to Expect: Hundreds of Santa Clauses will parade down the Parkway in Christmas themed floats and cars as part of the annual Clausfest convention. Expect appearances from Mrs. Claus, Santa’s Helpers, and Elves!
Cost: The parade is free!
A Mountain Quiltfest
When: March 19 – 22
Quilt Show viewing hours:
Wednesday March 19 at 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Thursday March 20 at 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday March 21 at 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday March 22 at 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Dinner Social:
Show and Tell:
Where: LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge. 2986 Teaster Lane, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.
What to Expect: The 20th annual Quiltfest is a four day convention with something for quilters of every ability. Events include a quilt show, quilt appraisals, a dinner social, show and tell, and numerous quilting classes and workshops. For more information, check out our Quiltfest blog.
Cost: Participating in and observing the Quilt Show is free. Quilt appraisals are by appointment and cost $40 for one quilt, $35 per quilt for three or four quilts, and $30 per quilt for five or more quilts. The Dinner Social costs $30. The Show & Tell is free. Classes vary in price. You can register online for classes on the Quiltfest website.
Corvette Expo
When: March 21 – 22
Friday March 21- Corvette Cruise begins at 6 p.m.
Saturday March 22 – Auction begins at 11:00 a.m.
Where: Sevierville Convention Center. 202 Gists Creek Road, Sevierville, TN 37876.
What to Expect: This two day convention is a must-see event for anyone who loves classic cars. There will be an auction, swap meet, car show, sales corral and more. If you’re a corvette owner, you can participate in the Corvette Cruise: a scenic drive along “Corvette friendly” roads in Pigeon Forge.
Cost: Admission is $10 per person. Kids 12 and under are free. There is also a fee for registering your Corvette for the car show.
Dollywood Opening Day/ Festival of Nations
When: March 22 – April 21
Where: Dollywood Theme Park. 2700 Dollywood Parks, Blvd, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.
What to Expect: Dollywood reopens for the season on March 22 and unveils it’s newest roller coaster the FireChaser Express! This also marks the start of the Festival of Nations, Dollywood’s annual celebration of world music, food, and entertainment. Artists from Europe, Africa, and South America will give performances every day at a number of locations throughout the park.
Cost: Admission is $58 for adults, $46 for children (ages 4- 11), and $53 for seniors (age 60 +). You can buy tickets on the Dollywood website.
