Driving along the Parkway in Pigeon Forge, TN can be a somewhat surreal experience! This iconic road is lined with all sorts of unusual sights, including an upside-down building, King Kong, a giant medieval castle, and a replica of the Titanic. No vacation in the Smokies is complete without visiting at least one of these famous destinations in the heart of the city. To help you make the most of your next getaway, Hearthside Cabin Rentals has put together a guide to the seven best Pigeon Forge Parkway attractions.
WonderWorks is Pigeon Forge’s only indoor amusement park! Housed inside of an upside-down building, this unique attraction boasts more than 100 hands-on exhibits that are both fun and educational. The exhibits at WonderWorks are organized into six different themed zones, which include Natural Disasters, Physical Challenges, Light & Sound, Space Discovery, the Imagination Lab, and the Far Out Art Gallery. Highlights of the attraction include a bed of nails that guests can lie on, a bubble lab, an earthquake simulator, and a giant piano that can be played with your feet. Guests at Hearthside Cabin Rentals will receive one free adult admission to WonderWorks with our Freedom Fun Pass.
The Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show is an absolute blast! This hilarious show stars America’s longest-feuding families, the Hatfields and the McCoys, as they attempt to settle their differences once and for all. You’ll root on your favorite family as they punch, kick, sing, and dance their way into your heart. Before the show begins, guests are treated to an all-you-can-eat Southern meal that features fried chicken, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and a special dessert.
The Hollywood Wax Museum is another one of the best Pigeon Forge Parkway attractions. This popular museum is overflowing with celebrities…or wax replicas of them at least! Visitors will have the chance to snap selfies with some of the biggest stars on the planet, including Tom Hanks, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Will Ferrell, Natalie Portman, and Harrison Ford. In addition to modern-day celebrities, the Wax Museum also features Hollywood icons from days gone by, such as James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and John Wayne.
If you’ve always wanted to go skydiving but aren’t too keen on jumping out of a plane, Pigeon Forge has an attraction for you! Flyaway Indoor Skydiving eliminated the need for airplanes and parachutes by using a powerful vertical wind tunnel to mimic the sensation of free falling. The entire experience is completely indoors, so you can even go “skydiving” on a rainy day.
The MagiQuest castle is home to four amazing attractions that your whole family is sure to love. The castle’s signature adventure, MagiQuest, is a fantasy role-playing game where guests use a magic wand to cast spells, fight dragons, unlock treasure chests, and solve puzzles. Other activities at MagiQuest include blacklight mini golf, a heist-style laser challenge, and the world’s longest mirror maze. Guests can bundle all four attractions for one low price or they can pick and choose whichever activities they’re interested in.
The Island is one of Pigeon Forge’s most popular destinations. This incredible complex is home to over 16 eateries, 20 attractions, and 40 shops. Highlights of The Island include the Ole Smoky Moonshine Barn, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, the Alcatraz East Crime Museum, and The Island Show Fountain. Be sure to take a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, which is one of the four tallest Ferris wheels in the country, or SkyFly Soar America, a flying theater attraction!
The Titanic Museum Attraction is a can’t-miss stop for history buffs or anyone who loved the 1997 movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. This unique museum is home to over 400 artifacts that were on the actual RMS Titanic, a collection that is valued at $4 million. In addition to the fascinating artifacts, guests will also see full-scale re-creations of rooms from the Titanic, including the breathtaking grand staircase.
