One of the best parts of vacationing in Pigeon Forge, TN is that there is always a new restaurant in town to try! Spanning everything from traditional Southern-style eateries to dessert shops, can’t-miss places to eat just keep cropping up in the Smokies. To help you make the most of your next getaway, Hearthside Cabin Rentals has put together a guide to seven new restaurants in Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains.
If you’re in the mood for authentic country cooking, you’ll love Five Oaks Farm Kitchen ! Located in the famous Five Oaks section of the Smokies, this restaurant carries on the tradition of hospitality started by Dr. John and Blanche Ogle, who lived at Five Oaks in the 1920s. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Farm Kitchen is already generating plenty of buzz for its “ring baked” griddle cakes, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, and sugar cured ham steak.
Teaffle is a totally unique shop that sells freshly prepared bubble tea and bubble waffles. In case you’re unfamiliar with the term, bubble tea is a milk or fruit-based tea that is served with chewy tapioca balls floating at the bottom. A bubble waffle is a special type of snack invented in Hong Kong that features a puffy waffle folded into a cone and filled with ice cream and toppings. In addition to these international snacks, Teaffle also serves homemade cotton candy and slices of cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory.
Cliff Top Grill & Bar is the latest addition to Anakeesta, a theme park located on top of a mountain overlooking downtown Gatlinburg. Guests will admire incredible views of the Smokies as they enjoy burgers, sandwiches, fried green tomatoes, and maybe an adult beverage or two. The only way to reach Anakeesta (and Cliff Top Grill & Bar) is via a chairlift or gondola ride to the top of the mountain.
Situated in the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, Split Rail Eats is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Split Rail Eats is quickly gaining a reputation for its hearty home cooked food, reasonable prices, and welcoming atmosphere. Popular menu items include the Rocky Top tater bowl (tater tots topped with fried eggs, bacon, and cheddar cheese sauce), mini chicken pot pie, Turkey Reuben, and chicken salad sandwich.
Yee-Haw Brewing Co. is another one of the most-talked-about new restaurants in Pigeon Forge and the Smokies. Well, technically, Yee-Haw is a taproom, not a restaurant, but it does serve tasty food! We highly recommend ordering one of their giant German pretzels with beer cheese and pairing it with a pint or a flight of Yee-Haw’s signature brews. Yee-Haw is the largest producer of craft beer in East Tennessee and offers a wonderful variety of lagers and ales.
Red Oak Bistro is a hidden gem in the Arts & Crafts Community! Perfect for a special date night with your sweetheart, this restaurant specializes in wine and tapas (small plates). Guests will have the chance to sample a number of unique dishes, such as Bulgarian sausage, smoked salmon bruschetta, and ahi tuna. If you’re not sure what to order, Olga and Mike, the bistro’s owners, are always happy to make a recommendation.
Cookie Dough Monster is a paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth! This cafe specializes in cookie dough that is safe to eat without being baked in an oven. In addition to its signature snack, Cookie Dough Monster also offers gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, chili, and even more great food.
